M50 Art District

Moganshan Road 50 - M50 for short - is an art district with around 140 galleries for contemporary art, which is located in an old factory site for cotton processing. Around the year 2000, artists found cheap and large studios there and settled in this area. In 2005 the city officially recognized the site as a cultural area. with which this area is protected from demolition and area renovation. There are a number of factory buildings and small factory streets that run through between them. The area looks like a labyrinth with many stairs, floors, corridors and small squares with cafes where you can sit outside. It can be reached via Metro 13, Jiangning Road Station.
